Holy Thistle/Blessed Thistle

(a.k.a. blessed thistle, spotted thistle, or St. Benedict’s thistle) may exert anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer effects on the body.  It has a mild diuretic effect which might result in more frequent urination.

Liver Protection

Classed as a cholagogue herb, Holy Thistle/Blessed Thistle stimulates bile production, which assists in liver detoxification.  This liver-supportive herb is often recommended to people who need to regain their appetite when recovering from illness or from specific treatments known to cause loss of appetite.

Persimmon Leaves

Persimmon Leaves are rich in plant compounds that protect against cardiovascular diseases, cancer, diabetes, and damage from chronic alcohol consumption.  Persimmon leaves are an excellent digestive aid that can help purify the liver.  Cleansing the liver is essential to helping the body eliminate excess waste.  As your body’s natural detoxifier, the liver can sometimes get overwhelmed with toxins.  Your body can hold onto waste for months or even years.  A whole array of health issues can be caused by too many built-up toxins in your system.  Health problems like joint pain, allergies, skin problems, and constipation are just a few of the many issues someone with excess waste can experience.

Papaya

Papaya exerts a laxative effect on the body which may increase your number of bowel movements to prevent or relieve constipation.  Papaya contains a particular enzyme called papain.  Papain is why it is most known to work as a powerful digestive aid.  It can also help improve heart health, reduce inflammation, strengthen the blood, and more.

Malva Leaves

Malva leaves/Mallow has been used as a medicine since ancient Greece and Rome.  It was considered helpful as an anti-inflammatory agent for the skin, gastrointestinal and respiratory tracts.  Significant uses of Mallow are as a tea for dry cough and sore throats or as a topical, gelatinous application for dermatitis.  Mallow is also used for treating renal disorders, retention of fluids, diarrhea, and frequent thirst.

Marshmallow Root

Marshmallow root is used for various ailments, including coughs, skin irritation, and digestive problems, such as ulcers.

Ginger

Spicy ginger root is widely used to relieve occasional aches & pains and support healthy digestion.

 Myrrh

Myrrh is a sap-like substance derived from a tree in Africa and Asia and may exert anti-bacterial and anti-parasitic effects. Properties: astringent, aromatic, antimicrobial, modulates inflammation, analgesic, blood mover, expectorant.

Chamomile

A daisy-like herb of the Asteraceae plant family.  Sweet, floral & honey tasting that promotes restfulness.  A good source of apigenin, an antioxidant.
