From Tremors to Triumph: The Story of Bee’s Wellness Café — Celebrating 5 Years of Healing, Hustle & Heart

It’s hard to believe, but this June, we proudly celebrate five years of Bee’s Wellness Café — and what a ride it has been! Our story isn’t just about building a wellness café; it’s about faith, perseverance, community, and a dream that refused to quit.

 

Bee’s Wellness Café wasn’t something we stumbled into. It was born from a life-changing moment. Brook — or as many of you affectionately know her, Blazey — was a dental hygienist for 15 years when an unexpected tremor while cleaning a patient’s teeth shook more than just her hands — it altered the course of our entire lives.

When most would have panicked, Brook dug deep into her natural curiosity and passion for holistic wellness. That tremor may have ended her dental career, but it planted the seed for something bigger. She began learning, experimenting, and studying, and what emerged was not just a product line but a mission — to help others heal, just as she was healing herself.

 

We originally planned to open Bee’s in November of 2019, which was perfectly timed for the holiday rush. But as if the universe had other plans, we faced delay after delay. Permits, construction, you name it — it kept pushing our opening back. Brook, always the intuitive one, kept saying, “I don’t know why, but this is supposed to happen.”

Looking back now, we realize exactly what she was intuiting.

We likely wouldn’t have survived the shutdown if we opened in November as planned.We would have been locked into a lease with no flexibility. But because we weren’t officially open when the world shut down, our landlord worked with us. He graciously delayed our first rent payment until we were ready to open. That kind of grace doesn’t happen often — and we know now it was no accident.

 

This is why we feel divinely guided and why we believe that as long as we stay the course and hold fast to our faith, nothing can stop us.

And then it happened. We finally received our Certificate of Occupancy on Friday, March 13th, 2020 — a date many of us will never forget. We spent that day prepping for our opening and a market later that evening at Fiorella Friday in Castroville. The world was buzzing with talk of shutdowns, but it still felt surreal. By the time we arrived, the shutdown was official.

 

With a few brave vendors and patrons trickling in, we made some connections, sold a few products, and packed up early — unsure of what tomorrow would bring.

 

Unlike many businesses, Bee’s Wellness Café did not qualify for government loans due to our work with cannabis. We invested every penny of our hard-earned savings into this dream, with no safety net or backup plan. It was truly all or nothing. 

 

We could’ve folded. We could’ve panicked. Instead, we rolled up our sleeves and got to work. Day in and day out, we attended every market that would have us, sometimes doing five markets a week — even two markets in a single day. It wasn’t about making a fortune, it was about telling our story, educating people, and planting seeds.

 

On June 1st, 2020, while the world was still catching its breath, we quietly opened our doors — no grand opening, no ribbon cutting, just a humble beginning fueled by grit and faith. We welcomed customers one by one, treating each interaction like it was the most important one of the day.

 

From the very beginning, we set out to be different. We weren’t interested in just selling CBD or jumping on wellness trends. Bee’s Wellness Café was created to be a safe space, a healing space, and a learning space. We wanted the community to know that we were more than another CBD or vape shop. We were — and still are — a haven of holistic knowledge, offering ancient healing practices blended with modern understanding.

 

Blazey, the heartbeat behind Bee’s, pours her soul into every detail. From the layout of the café to every label, juice name, and product formula — all of it is her vision come to life. Even our proprietary hemp extract that powers our water-soluble CBD? Yes, you guessed it — that’s Blazey’s creation, too.

 

Over the past five years, Blazey has taken wellness to a whole new level, earning her a reputation far beyond San Antonio as the Sea Moss Boss. What started as one product line has grown into a movement. People now travel from all over Texas — even from Louisiana— to get their hands on Blazey’s authentic, nutrient-rich sea moss creations.

 

It’s humbling, to say the least, to see how far we’ve come from those uncertain days of 2020 to now welcoming loyal customers who have become part of our extended Bee’s family.

 

The truth is, Bee’s Wellness Café isn’t just a business. When you walk into Bee’s Wellness, you are walking into Brook’s dream, built brick by brick with love, study, and unwavering faith. We are constantly learning, rediscovering ancient protocols, and bringing them into the modern world — not just to sell products, but to make a real impact on people’s lives.
